Vauxhall frontera exhaust

The system from another 2.5 tds might not fit.
Exhaust pipes have a habit of changing sizes slightly over the production run and between different manufacturers.
Ive bought front and rear boxes where they gave me 2 different brands as thats what they had in stock. But the pipes were the same size when one was supposed to fit inside the other.
Try it and see. You can buy sleeves cheaply if the parts dont match exactly.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Milner Off Road does decently priced parts for 4x4s.
Also consider AutoVaux.
The only way to know for sure is to have both systems on the floor in front of you.
Though personally i would doubt they would be an exact fit at the manifold end.
Middle and back box you may be lucky.
Consider that even the exhaust meant for a vehicle may have fitment issues and need adjustment.
You could look on somewhere like BuyPartsBy and see if the part number match.0 -
Hi my partner has a 1998 frontera 2.5 tds and he needs a new centre box and rear pipe could anyone tell me if the system from a 2.8td will fit please?
frontera A or MK1:No the 2.5 and 2.8 don't cross fit.
2.8 has cat converter before the center pipe under the car and has a different pipe bend fitment.
2.5 has cat converter on the manifold or manicat then onto a single down pipe before the center box.
there were also 2 versions of center box IIRC (been a few years since I worked in a motor factors) to factor in Long wheel based and short wheel based frontera's i.e 5dr or 3dr (sport) 4x4.0 -
At 17 years old it probably isn't on its oem system so not really possible for anyone to remotely tell you what will fit and what wont. Most places that actually fit exhausts, even the dreaded KwikFit, have the pipe expanders and flaring tools on the board to make components join successfully though. Just don't get suckered into paying full system price for a bitsa system.0

Your best bet is a Frontera forum, this is bound to have come up before.
Similar issue on some relatively rare petrol engined Landcruisers, no pattern part available so the forum advice is to fit the smaller but slightly louder pattern Diesel exhaust and just get the longer front pipe cut off the old one and welded onto the new to suit, a net saving of £300.0
