Car Leasing Deposit
Hi
Please can you help. I have put a month deposit down on a car to make sure that the maker of the car secures it and is not given away to another customer.
I am planning to lease a car via a leasing broker (Total Motion Vehicle Ltd) and the car maker is Mercedes-Benz.
The deposit was placed on 13 March and on 17 March the leasing broker informs me that MB failed to secure the car and is no longer available.
The car is valued at approx. £32,300 and the deal is based on a 6+35 month with a monthly payment of £311.98.
I like to understand where I stand with this. Who is to blame, the broker or maker of the car?
Ideally I like them to honour the agreement but what they have been doing is offering a car with a much lower value.
Please advise.
Thanks

Did you sign anything when you paid the deposit which set out what the broker was liable for should they not secure the car? IMO, your contract is with the broker and you should pursue with them even if it was MB's fault (which you'll probably have difficulty in confirming anyway)
I'd think you'd have grounds to have the deposit returned and start again (elsewhere maybe!).0
