How long before I switch current accounts?

Hi. I recently switched my basic Halifax current account (used to be my student one, but changed when I graduated the first time) to my M+S one, to take advantage of the £100 gift card.
I usually keep track of my sister's savings too, as she's genuinely useless (honestly, she had 15 thou sat in a 0.9% account once!
) and she's interested in this gift card with Marks and Sparks - she spends a lot in there. We've already opened her their current acc. and regular saver, so that's not a problem. But, she doesn't have just a basic account we could switch to them - they're all tied up in maximising interest: TSB, Nationwide, Tesco etc.
If I opened her a bog standard basic current acc. with Halifax (she has ISAs with them already), how long before I could switch it to M+S? Is there a rule on how long you have to wait after opening before switching, or?
TIA

No rules, as soon as its open you can switch. I recently switched a account 1 week after opening it.0

If the account you've opened for the switch comes with a debit card, I would wait until you had that before switching.0

Not sure if this applies to Halifax, but I had an RBS switch fail because I hadn't activated the debit card.
Pop a couple of quid into the account so you have something to switch plus it shows you the switch has happened when the money is in the new account.0 -
if you switch and benefit of £££ for this, how long you have to keep that acoount before switching again?0
