Watch out for a Fake Paypal email.

Just received a very realistic looking, fake Paypal email, inviting me to update my account.

Naturally, it'll be deleted, but I thought I should warn people that it's floating around the web.

I get these emails all the time but I do think they seem to have increased in volume over the past few weeks.

Unless it's addressed to me using my name (which isn't member), I don't give it more than a casual glance, and I'll bet this one wasn't.

Fortunately most are filtered out by the spam filter, so I don't even know about them unless I go looking.

The key with stuff like this, is to not use any links sent in the email. Open your browser, go directly to the website of Paypal (in this example) and log in the normal way.

For me it's highly amusing when I get these sent to an email address that's not even connected with Paypal.

I virtually never see these things.

Unless I look in my spam folder of course. You should maybe consider using a decent spam filter,
  • I have been dealing with someone via email to buy a bike. They are reluctant to send me photo graphs and they want me to transfer the money by Paypal. I received an invoice from paypal, but the paypal email was from the following address:

    paypal@customers-supports.co.uk

is this a fake email address?

    thanks,
    Chris

no it might be a genuine paypal email address , HOWEVER if you were to foolishly pay someone (a stranger) for something you have not seen , you would sign into paypay (NOT via any links on the email) and pay moneies to THE PERSONS email address , NOTE if you pay this as a gift , you have NO COMEBACK after you are scammed

The email address may be genuine (may work), but the person you're communicating with isn't.

Why won't they send you pictures? Weird. They could have sent you one of these. Not a very imaginative scammer.

Its a real email address, but it doesn't belong to paypal.
It belongs to someone who bought the domain "customers-supports.co.uk"
