NPower Free VAX Handheld Vacuum - BEWARE!!!

Options
Beware of this offer.

The condition is that you buy a Boiler Care or Central Heating Care Plan from NPower - I did - and the promise was the vacuum. Delivery within 120days from purchase.

Received an email from NPower my order had tracked and the Vax would be sent this was on the 29 October 2014 it's now March 18th 2015 and no sight of the VAX.

Followed it up direct with NPower (telephone) who claimed MoneySavingExpert is responsible for delivery of the VAX NOT NPower.

Contacted MSE three times through their dedicated email address insurancehelp@moneysavingexpert.com - no response from them at all......

My advice? Don't bother - it's all a complete ruse!!!!

    Hi pebbles10

It would be the Third Party who would be responsible for sending any of these offers, however if you can send me your details using the contact information on our profile page, we have a team who can look into this further for you to see if we can chase this up for you.

    Regards

    Jess :)

I am the official company representative of nPower. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE.
If we ask you to contact us, please do so using helpandsupport@npower.com - MSE Forum has temporarily allowed the display of our contact details in our signature due to a technical issue with our profile

I am in the same boat. NPower and MSE expert ignored all queries about this offer. Did you get a resolution to this?
  • I have had the same problem having purchased my heating cover last November. Messages have been going backwards and forwards. I have the email confirming my registration and also the confirmation from Npower saying that they have tracked my purchase and will send the cleaner. MSE are going to chase again tomorrow. Someone at MSE must have agreed this offer with Npower. The offer is through Npower Northern Ltd trading as Npower.

I purchased my central heating plan last February, I signed up for the offer through nPower website, received email from nPower that my purchase is tracked and will be receiving the vacuum cleaner within 120 days. Today 14th July 2015, no vacuum cleaner. I Contacted nPower by email followed by a telephone call, they referred me to MSE, sent an email to MSE, so far no reply.

At no point throughout the transaction and the paperwork, there any mention that this offer is through MSE or any other third party, all my dealings were with nPower, so why nPower washing their hands of it.

If I contact Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards, they will re-affirm that the organisation liable for this offer is the organisation where the product was purchased from, i.e. nPower and not MSE.

I think this is all a scam.
  • Have done the same, the offer is a con. Shame
  • I have also experienced this and npower have again washed their hands of it - i have emailed MSE and await a response. Time to get others involved I think and as a journalist I intend exposing this in the papers.
  • I actually just remembered about the offer this morning. Is there nothing that can be done about this? The only reason I went with Npower was that the cleaner would come in handy for my lorry.
