Estimated to cost £2.16bn over the next 5 years.
To put some perspective on this, a respite centre, which cares for 200 disbaled people per year is being closed close to a relative. The aim is to save £700,000.
We lose even more of the Army and vehicle to save money. So much so even the US lay into us for our cuts on defence...
We cut police officers and can't afford a pay rise for Nurses, Police etc?
Meanwhile, we commit to giving £2.1bn away to people to buy houses?
It just doesn't sit well with me.0 -

Well you never have understood basic economics.
Firstly, it is one hell of a lot cheaper than building 150,000 houses, and also maintains the high values of houses owned by [STRIKE]Conservative voters[/STRIKE] hard working families.
If the young are as hard pressed and exploited as you suggest, then why do you not want them to have the lion's share of the few crumbs that Osbourne has managed to find.
I've only got £200 a year out of it, thanks to the £1,000 interest free interest. Generation W[hinge] have potentially got £3,000!
But I'm not complaining.0 -

House prices going up has other effects, it increases the tax take further down the line. Also because the local government owns loads of lands (which they are about to sell), money will be recouped that way. Also as houses go up in prices, people spend more, which can kick start the economy. Oh and governent owns parts of property from certain schemes when financing home owners from previous times, so the government in a way is taking from one hand but giving to the other.
I imagine they would see it not as 'lost' money.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

It's cheaper than building 10 suspension bridges across the thames, too.
I state that as it has about as much relevance to the thread as your point does.
This money does not aim to build a single house (or any type of bridge). So feel free to throw around the insults, but at least get yourself a vague idea of the topic before you do.0 -

It doesn't sit well with me either. The public don't see the real damage to the police and are just spun lies. The cuts in crime are made up by fiddling the figures. Closing down police stations and front offices stops people reporting crime thus reported crime falls. Regrading calls so police get there within 1 hour rather than 8 minutes means drug dealers or people trying car door handles are no longer there, thus reported crime down. Scraping proactive police teams, neighbourhood police teams so no one patrols areas and finds criminality thus reported crime falls. Scarring police that if they search people they will be disciplined, so criminals can carry there weapons and drugs thus reported crime falls apart from when someone dies. Then there is changing the classification of crimes to crime related incidents and yet again crime falls. Its all lies and spin.
What they are doing to are armed forces is disgusting and there is no way I am voting conservative after what they have done to the police and military even with this help to buy ISA brib especially when they robbed my house deposit with Funding for Lending.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Have you seen all the hard work returning crime ridden communities back to their residents being reversed and returned to the gangs. Have you seen the big increase in stabbings and killings recently in London. You may not have to deal with people killing each other but its heart breaking especially when all you have done is reversed by the cuts.
Don't forget the effects of the riots when large ammounts of people were locked after, they are coming out or out now and real crime is rising. Don't believe me then ask any police officer.
Violent crime in London soars by 22 per cent

how much have london police budgets fallen this year?
£600 million in last 4 years and £800 million to come in next four. They are simply selling all the police stations and plan to give officers IPAD minis from sale of New Scotland Yard. They are spinning that IPADS can replace police stations at the moment despite half are custody suites being closed. Brentford, Chelsea, Chiswick, Fulham, Ealing, Shepherds Bush, ESB police stations all being sold off in small part of West London alone.
Police numbers will be cut after the election as their salaies represent 85% of costs. They are just keeping the numbers at 32,000 till then as its a pledge by the mayor for the election, after that the number cuts come in like the other forces have already. Theresa May wants to bring in compulsory redundancy recommended by the Windsor report, she is using its implimentation to blackmail the police federation from critising the cuts.
Its not just the police but all the hospitals being closed in West london like Charring Cross and 4 A&Es. I hate to think what they are going to do to are armed forces, the marines must be in line for the next big cuts as they now can't cut the army below 80,000 because of recent public backlash.
I don't know any fireman, police officer, police staff or NHS employee going to vote conservative.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
