2 Houses - 1 With Loft Conversion, 1 Still to be Done

I am mulling over 2 houses, one is a 2 bed bungalow with space to convert the loft to further accomodation, 1 is a similar kind of property but with that work already done (it has 1 bedroom and a huge living area upstairs) The only thing I would do to this house is add a seperate ensuite upstairs.
In the bungalow yet to be converted several properties in the estate have already been converted as the builder sold them with this in mind. The one next door for instance has 2 beds and bathroom and a box room there.
We are planning on this being our home for the long term so future value etc is not a huge issue. Bearing in mind the 40K difference in price between converted and unconverted which one would be best to consider?
I should add that the cheaper house would leave us mortgage free so we could do the other wor aks funds became available, the dearer one leaves us with a 20K mortgage as we have at present.

If it were me, I would go for the one that hasn't been converted because, as you say, you want an en suite so could design it exactly to your own requirements in the first place and not have the expense of adding an en suite to the already converted one.0

Unconverted if you don't mind doing the work, it should not cost 40k and you can have it how you want it0

I wouldn't be doing any of the work as I am useless!

Thinking about it we would probably go for a full scale bathroom with shower upstairs and convert the bathroom downstairs to a utility room. That would be the case for both houses so I guess it adds more cost to the dearer house again.0
