Car Insurance - Advise on how to categorise my boyfriend

I would like to add my boyfriend to my car insurance but we do not live together so unsure as how to categorise him as the options when going for a quote tend to be common-law or Co-habitee - any advice would be much appreciated

There will (should) be an option to add any driver (not just a spouse/partner etc) who doesn't live with you0

I had the same issue, some companies gave an option of a parner at another address, and some didn't, for the ones that didn't when I added him as someone I wasn't related to it went sky high, best thing to do is ring them up.0

They're a partner no matter where they live unless there is an explicit definition that partners must cohabit with you.0

I have a friend on mine that is not living at the same address - it makes little difference to the premium but I guess that's because they realise that somebody who lives 200 miles away, who owns a car of their own, is hardly ever likely to drive mine! Somebody who lived round the corner who didn't have their own car could conceivably drive mine much more often.
I have also had my brother as a named driver on my insurance in the past
TALK to the insurance company - they will be able to help you rather than you trying to work out what box to tick & risking getting it wrong!0
