OK.., I've been an idiot. Lets get that clear.

I phoned up sky to cancel my package.., because I hardly turn the TV on any more and my box is on the way out anyway. Needed to cut costs.

I was persuaded, willingly, to sign up for the multi-room package including Sky go extra because I could use skygo on my pc. It was a very good deal, saving lots of money. Still a cost, but cost less than the package I already had.

Then.., my kids wanted to watch things on sky box sets once I put sky go on their pcs. Like an idiot I phoned up and increased my package by £5 from Variety to Family, which allowed us to access sky go plus the box sets.

As my finances have gone down further, and it was within the 14 days cancellation period, I tried to cancel today. Found out I could cancel the multi-room package but because I'd increased from Variety to Family and there is no cancellation period for this.., I am in an uncancellable contract. In fact, because of the loss of the 'deals' through me trying to cancel the multi room part of the package, I doubled the cost! They did put that back on again although I have no intention of using it and in fact can't because the damn box now is completely non working lol.

Been a customer of Sky for 25 years (seriously). One more year to go and sky will never see my name again. How one thing can be cancellable and another not, I don't understand. They say I was read out the terms and conditions, but I don't remember anything about the upgrade from Variety to Family being uncancellable but assume I just didn't hear it.

I hope no one else is a stupid as me!

And no I won't be calling for a sky engineer to come round and fix the box.

Do verbal T&C's mean anything ?!

Presumably Sky was good at one point .....

Yes they do mean something ... provided Sky have retained the recording of the call as proof.
