Gartmore China Opportunities Fund

This is not accurate. Awdry took over management of Gartmore China Opportunities in June 2006 (over a year ago)
Is that not "some months ago" ?
In any event the OP stated that "I've noticed the Gartmore China Opportunities Fund has done exceptionally well over the years"
"Over the years" this would be principally down to Phillip Ehrmann. He was also in the Gartmore China Opportunities team for years before that.
Awdry joined Gartmore in September 2001 and did not start supporting the management of the Gartmore China Opps fund until September 2003.In the last year, Awdry's Gartmore China Opportunities fund has out performed Ehrmann's Jupiter China fund
Lipper stats to 29 June 2007 give the best performing Asia Pacific ex Japan fund over the previous six month period as the Jupiter China fund - Gartmore China is second. It's just that Carnet's post sounded unnecessarily skeptical about Gartmore China Opps.
Not sceptical at all - if I was going to invest in a China fund atm (which I'm not) I wouldn't invest in either of these two.0 -

I could disect this response but will resist engaging in a drawn out hairsplitting exercise. I fully support dunstonh's view that they are both good funds, and any differences in performance are insignificant.0
