Credit card disappeared off Noddle Account

My husband had a credit card with his first wife. When they divorced he was left with the debt as she was an additional cardholder only
The card was with Alliance and Leicester and had transferred to MBNA. By the time I was aware of it the balance was £12,000.
I started paying quite hefty sums off it, and about 4 years later, when checking our credit files on Noddle, we found out that the debt had actually been sold to a DCA in 2011. He had had no contact from the DCA. I did as advised on these boards, and asked for a copy of the original agreement. OH had letters from both A&L and MBNA saying these were not available and the DCA said the same at first, then three months later they sent it.
I've continued to make sure the payments are made and have made a few F and F offers but all have been refused.
However, looking more closely last month I realised that two payments totalling £600 had not been accounted for on the credit record in 2013. I got all the bank statements and forwarded them (on my husband's behalf -he signed the letter) to the DCA asking that they remedy this immediately. We also made another F and F offer.
When I checked the credit reports tonight, this account has totally disappeared.
Any idea why this would happen? It has been there every other month.
Thanks in advance

Do you know what default date had been on the credit file before this month? Could it just be that it is now 6 years since the default?
Another reason an entry disappears can be if the organisation reporting the debt is changing - e.g if the entry was previously in the other creditors name then that could disappear and a new entry appear just the same but in the debt collectors name (which then makes it easier for the debt collector to update the balance regularly to show your payments are reducing it).
Or if the entry on file was already in the debt collectors name they could have removed in temporarily while they investigate the letter from your husband. Or if the debt is about to be passed on to another debt collector.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks Tixy
The default was in 2011 I think. The MBNA entry is still there
Hopefully they are adjusting the numbers to take into account the payments they haven't reportedSealed pot challenge member #325
