Land Registry Question

Just wondering when you buy a house and you register your name against that property with the land registry office will they do any searches themselves, in particular to see if you own any other properties?

No.
Why should they care how many properties you own.
HMRC on the other hand might.0 -
Thanks for your quick reply G_M.
Is this a known fact?0 -

While in theory they could search their own register to see what else you own, I can't think of any reason why they would want to. It would be irrelevant to the registration of the property they're dealing with.
And in the absence of unique personal identifiers, they couldn't know for certain that you are the same Joe Bloggs who owns another property.
Why do you ask?0 -

That’s fine, thanks G_M
HMRC wasn’t my question and I know the tax implications, which is fine.0 -
PaulC5 - we register the changes of ownership and would not search our own register to see where else you might be registered as the owner“Official Company Representative
