Faulty carrier bags

Hi, My friend went into a shop and bought a litre bottle of alcohol and a carrier bag, she went into the shop next door and bought a 2litre bottle of juice as it was cheaper there. When she came out the shop, the bag split (right outside the first shop) and the alcohol fell out and smashed. She went into the first shop and asked if they would replace the drink as the bag was faulty. They said no. I went in and said they should replace it as the bag wasn't fit for purpose. They told me to leave and that they weren't replacing anything.
Does my friend have any rights to a replacement bottle?
Any help appreciated. She only gets the odd night off and was looking forward to a night with her mates

Try advising your friend not to put 3 litre bottles into a flimsy carrier bag without making sure its strong enough, common sense would tell you to keep a hand underneath it with that weight in.0

Did she put the 2l bottle of juice in with the 1l bottle of alcohol?0

Did she buy another bag for the juice , if she put it in the same bag she only has herself to blame0

Yes she put them both in the same bag. Still surely a paid for carrier bag should carry 3 litres. She said they fell out through the bottom.
The shop did give her another bag for her juice and that one split too.
Surely they shouldn't have such flimsy bags in a mini supermarket?0 -
I'm just wondering what her rights are here and if she's entitled to a replacement.
The likes of Asda and co would have replaced it if it had dropped right outside the shop0 -

Surely there should be a standard strength to this paid for carriers. The second one split and that only had the 2 litre bottle in it0 -
Did she buy the carrier bag or was she given it free?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

personally i wouldnt rely on one carrier bag to carry a litre of drink, paid for or free, its common sense which many these days seem to lack and no one seems to want to take any responsibilty0
