Bosch intergrate dishwasher

Moved into new house with a integrated dishwasher. However I have not got a clue on how to use it. I think there is a fault. The model is SHV43AO3GB/46
If I switch it on by the button on top of inside of door. I just get a gurgling sound. Is the normal. I have not put in any cleaning material as I'm not sure it even works. Do I need to set it up ready to wash before I press the button. Or should water still fill it when I just press on button.
Tempted to get a bosch engineer out but they expensive. Hoping you guys have any tips. Never used one before.

Just select the shortest program (is there a rinse?) & switch on. The first thing that happens when you turn on a dishwasher is that the pump comes on for usually a minute, then it'll go through the program. If the pump just stays on it could be the anti-flood system telling you there's a leak.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I switch it on and select a rinse and it just gurgles.
Something definitely seems to be stopping the water coming in. What, I don't know0 -
Stating the obvious but is the water turned on at the tap where the inlet hose connects?0

If you don't have the instruction manual have a search on the Bosch website, most dishwashers are fairly simple things once you have the manual. Whenever we move home we always leave the manuals behind for fixed appliances.0

Often with integrated dishwashers the base forms a bowl which collects water if there is a leak. Then a float switch stops everything & turns the pump on, probably the gurgling. If you can, pull it out, lay it down on it's back (mind the hoses) & any water will run out of the base. Lift it up, push it back in & try again. Of course if there is a leak it will happen again, time for an engineer.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I have a Bosch integrated dishwasher (my first one too). I set what programme I want and press the start button. It starts gurgling before I've had chance to shut the door, but then stops and goes on to do its thing. Have you given it a chance to go into the wash cycle?0 -
If the OP has moved in, I wonder if the previous occupants have turned off the water for the appliances and the dishwasher just needs turning back on again?0

Ours has an on off button *and* a start button- could you upload a photo?0

What's there? How many buttons, what sort of symbols - a photo would be helpful0
