If I'd had that call I'd have just said "OK" and hung up, then got on with my day. The important thing is that they are exchanging and the price is still as agreed.0

Yes, we're fully aware. We're staying with my in-laws for those few weeks, as it's a new build and we need to get flooring done, etc. before we move in.0 -

Plus, we're on really good terms with the sellers (they live right next door - they built the house) and they are fine with our situation. Suits them, so we're less stressed about that than about the exchange on our sale.
