Ford KA Heater

Hi

I have a 2004 KA. it was my daughters and she said she had been having heater issues. When we got it off her I decided to fix it as it was now my run around. I changed the heater valve and all worked well for a week or so, now it is blowing excessively hot air, not warm stuff, the sort you get from an element heater that burns your hand if you get it close enough. It doesn't seem to change with the thermostat either, occasionally itll blow cool air. not often.

Any ideas, the main issue is the temperature of this air, hotter than anything I have ever felt in a car.
