Pcn recived not parked there

Yesterday I received a PCN dated 06.10.2014 for parking at a hospital I have never been to and was not there on that date. The registration number they have is mine but I was not there and not been there. They say they wrote to the registered keeper and they informed them that I was the driver at the time of the parking event,I am the registered keeper and have never received any such letters until the one I received yesterday saying I owe them £78 and have got 14 days to pay as the opportunity to challenge the notice has expired. Please can somebody help

Please could you say which hospital and which company has sent you the invoice ?

Also, can you prove you were elsewhere at the time ?

Who was the registered keeper of the vehicle on 06:10:14? Which hospital? Which company issued the pcn?

I am the registered keeper,and never received any letter. the hospital was Arrowe Park, on the Wirral Merseyside, I have never been there in my Life.The company who sent the notice are PCN Parking Solutions

Were you the registered keeper of the vehicle on 06:10:14? If so, and you haven't been there yourself, did you lend the car out to someone else who may have parked the car there?

I contacted the hospital who put me through to sercurity as they deal with the parking, who have been very helpful and gone through there records and my registration is not registered on there system, they have contacted PCN Parking Solutions and are still waiting for a reply. I also have evidence from my work I was there on that day, I have not lent my car out to anybody, there is no way my car was parked at that hospital on that day, or ever as I have never been to that hospital.

Someone's transposed digits/letters when recording the vehicle mark and somehow managed to come out with your registration. This is nothing new, and the chances of your plate actually being cloned are minimal.
