IVA and PPI

My wife received a letter advising her that the company that currently manage her IVA, are going to instruct a 3rd party to investigate the possibility of PPI on the debt she currently has.
The letter in my opinion is very confrontational, and also threatening.
The letter states that she must co-operate with the 3rd party, or they will no longer be able to manage her IVA.
No doubt this 3rd party arrangement will mean that my wife will have to indirectly pay them for any recovery of PPI.
My wife understands that the debt she has must be paid, however to be threatened by the very people she has employed to manage her IVA, is disgraceful.
Has anyone out there experienced anything like this, and if so how did you deal with it please?:(

standard policy. takes upto two yeard to sort as well and don't be suprised that the company wants to pop to your house to get everything signed at once, then lose most of it and re-post them out for re-signing a year later.

I got the same from mine - although the contact came from the claim company (Equity in Finance) in the first instance a month before my IVA finished, then followed up by the letter from Grant Thornton (five months AFTER my IVA finished). The call from EIF said GT would not close the IVA unless I cooperated with EIF. I told them there was no PPI to claim...they refused to listen.

When I spoke to GT, they said I had to let EIF make the claim. That process started in February 2013. I am STILL waiting for contact from EIF, but having rung them at the one-year point to discover they'd been sitting on a query from a creditor for six months, why am I surprised? At the two-year point, I rang them again. Apparently there was no PPI to claim - just like I told them two years previously. Go figure...

I am no expert, but I believe I have read others who have refused to use the claims company and have submitted claims themselves (with any monies going to the IP of course). It's ridiculous that they see it as acceptable to lose 35% of any pay out for something it is possible to do yourself.
