In the meantime, some poundshops or other discounters have 'all in one' type remotes - so you can have £39 profit whilst waiting for LG to send the replacement.

Whenever you return anything to electronics companies, their T&Cs always state to remove batteries and anything else "consumable", and only send back the main faulty unit with no accessories or extras.

If you find L&Gs warranty terms you will find the same I am sure, and I think the mistake is yours not theirs. Just get a new universal one on ebay or amazon.

Apparently I should have been told that Rob. I wasn't.
    Life is now good :)

    Mid February to April..

Roughly 60 days it will be...

Sorry, equates to roughly £1-50 a day...

Ps, the system can't be used without a remote.

    It's 66p a day. £1.50 x 60 days is £90.

You don't need to be told it again if it's in the warranty T&Cs though, because by invoking the warranty you accept those T&Cs (I have no idea if it is mentioned there, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is). And really it's just common sense that a manufacturer wouldn't need your remote to operate their own equipment.

I remember years ago, I sent a spectrum game back to the developer, Ocean as it didn't load. Thinking I was being helpful, I included the box. The replacement arrived back without one.
Lesson learned, when the same thing happened with a different game some months later, I sent off the cassette only. I received a brand new box, manual, stickers back as well.
Unless they specifically ask for them, don't send off anything more than you need to.
