Help with faulty car
Bought a used car from a dealer June 2014. Within 3 weeks the car was back to have clutch & flywheel replaced under dealer warranty. 3 months later the cylinder head gasket went causing lots of further problems to engine. Could not get the car to original dealer who has no recovery vehicles so had it repaired at local garage & requested help with costs from dealer who refused.
Last week the clutch failed and the local garage refused to repair as there is evidence of dangerous workmanship to the engine.
Original dealer refuses to recover the vehicle to repair it.
when I bought the car I paid the deposit by credit card £100
Does anyone know if I can claim anything from credit card company? I would really appreciate any advice. thanks

Original issue, Clutch replaced so no longer an issue.
Head gasket went, You didnt take it back for the dealer to sort, So that is not
their problem.
Clutch failed again. You will need to prove this was faulty when they sold it to you, As it was replaced that will be difficult.
You need to explain dangerous workmanship to the engine? Was this cause by the garage that you got to sort the head gasket?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If the OP bothers to come back..
2nd clutch issue - could be your driving style (but 99.99% of people always say they are a good driver and never abuse the clutch yet I often see about 80% of cars at lights/junctions being held on the clutch and most people also use the clutch as a foot rest..)
How far away from the original dealer are you?
how long was the warranty?0 -
I had to speak to a dealer about my ex-MIL's car. The clutch failed soon after she bought it. They tried to fob her off saying they had checked the clutch before sale and it was fine.
I called them and said the only check they probably made was to see if it slips or not and its quite possible that the clutch was near its limit so its down to them to replace it.
I had never seen her drive the car so thought nothing more. Then one day i watched her revs the nuts off and slipping the clutch reversing off the drive. Poor little car.
When i got a call a few months later saying its slipping again, I said they wont replace the clutch again. She will have to pay for it. She had done less than 8000 miles.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
