Hi every one I am new to this please excuse me if I make a mistake
Can some one advice please
I had a loan with Santander since 2006 have been paying into this account till 2010 and 2011 with a balance of 5600.00. I had put in a claim for PPI compensation I was given an offer of 4047.00 at that time I was also out of a job so explained my issue to the manager of the Santander over the phone and the bank had agreed to write off my balance and this would not affect my credit file if I had excepted the offer( me silly I didn't get this in writing) of which I did in November 2011 I signed and excepted the offer, it took them 4 months to come back to me and demand the full amount(it was not received) was confused so called bank to explain but they fobbed me off and denied any offers made and I was still liable for the balance. I tried to talk to several people but no joy.
I put a complaint with the Ombudsman in sept 2012 since then till know the case was running. the ombudsman findings are that the compensation was not calculated correctly so the new offer is 4750.00 and they were advised to stop all third party letters but they did not and also they did not advise me to keep paying into the account so I was awarded a further 250.00 during this period as a result since 2012 they have been applying a default to my account every month until to date. I have told the ombudsman of this they say that the bank is refusing to correct my credit file.

so here I am after talking to the citizens advise and debt line help but no joy can any one help can I or not get them to remove those defaults from my file that is not my fault for those years that the case was with the ombudsman .

When did the default actually get applied? Was it in 2010 when you were out of work?

    When is the default date?

    Is it correct?

Santander refused to backdate by default as it's 9 months after no payments made, should have been within 6 months. They don't know what they are doing.
