Cancelling H&C insurance before policy begins

Yesterday I purchased H&C insurance on line and paid by my debit card. However, I no longer wish to use the particular company and now wish to cancel the policy. Obviously as of yet I have not recieved any documentation and as far as I can tell the company have not taken out the annual premium from my account, which the policy does not start until 28 August 2007. How do I go about cancelling the policy??

Contact them by PHONE and ask them to cancel it.
But just because the policy hasn't started yet doesn't necessarily mean you won't be liable for cancellation penalties.0 -
I did ring them up, thats the problem and I was told by a very abrupt male that I had wasted their time and that I shouldnt have bought it if I didnt want it and I was a time waster and that i had to send a letter of cancellation. He then hung up on me!0

Then that's what you'll have to do.
I also don't understand why you bought a policy and then changed your mind.0
