RingGo mobile app

Recently, Ealing Council, like many in London, sent all residents a notification that, rather than those crappy scratch cards you display through the windscreen, one can now pay for visitors' parking permit through the RingGo mobile app.
Great, no more forgetting to put the cards in beforehand or guessing whether you'll need permits for the morning and afternoon periods in advance. You simply do it online whenever you remember provided it's before the restriction period starts.
Except not quite. For the third time in as many weeks, I return to find a PCN for £110 attached to my windscreen. And each time I have to ask the friend I'm visiting for the payment email confirmation from RingGo with receipt # so I can appeal the fine. Given that it is clearly a process failure, I have every reason to believe it will happen every time I park there.
I want to say in my next appeal that as it's not my paid job to constantly go on their PCN website and lodge appeals with all required admin, I will be billing them for my time. If they haven't the process in place for verifying parking without a physical ticket displayed through the windscreen then they should not offer the park-by-mobile service
Anyone tried this?
