Prudential PPI??

Hi,
Years ago my nan and then my mum had accounts with Prudential, think it was insurance - somone would call at the house and fill in the little red book (anyone else remember these??) i would now think nothing of it but one of the claims companys wrote to me and said there is PPI on those accounts and I HAVE to use them as it is so long ago etc. I don't know why they think this but it must be right?? Trouble is of course I have no paperwork for those accounts.....Do I go through the process of paying £10 for the info - would they still have the info (but then how would this clain co. have found out?)?
thanks

Sorry someone must be winding you up! PPI on industrial branch insurance - just about the daftest thing I've heard.

What next, PPI was added to your mums weekly shop at the supermarket.

These were known as industrial Branch policies. Small premium business typically used for life assurance (endowment savings plans).

You cant get PPI on IB policies. That is just a commission greedy claims company rep trying to earn a commission.
and I HAVE to use them as it is so long ago etc.
    which is another lie.

Cold calling scammers dont tell the truth.

Waste of £10. These types of plans could not have PPI on them.

    Thanks for your replies.

Thats interesting...so what was the company hoping to get?

I knew the bit about it not being true I had to use them irrespective of time (from on here and Martin's programs :-) ).

The cold caller is on a commission. Many people with loans and credit cards dont realise they had PPI. So, the cold caller is just hoping to get lucky. or it could that they are paid £x for every case they get signed up even if the case is unsuccessful. Remember they are on sales targets.

No - that would require an IQ at least into double figures.
