not a lot, sadly, although I think you can appeal.
I have found it very frustrating, I have been turned down for a number of 0% or low life of balance cards this year - I am not one for late payments on them or missed payments, but it is probably just that I have a large total amount of debt.
So even though I only want to balance transfer, not increase my debt, I get knocked back.
Frustrating, but hopefully it is stopping others get into additional debt that they cannot afford, so we have to look at the bigger picture I suppose.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Goldfish turned me down when experian et al had us both at the top 2% of the population with regards credit staus.
Maybe it is more to do with them over-commiting on their credits than you being overcommited0 -
Thanks my friend thinks it might be because i have a 'little' debt so it wouldn't be worth it i'm just sick and tired of paying stupid amounts of interest!!! all i want is to be debt free!!0

Have you checked your credit rating? I was recently given a goldfish card but then realised that they are the same co as Morgan Stanley so they gave me a combined credit limit. These companies are tightening their belts which is only to be expected with more and more people going bankrupt and insolvant. It's not what you will want to hear but to be brutally honest if they say you're overcommitted then they are probably right.
Have you tried increasing your limit of your existing cards and doing a credit card shuffle to get the interest down?Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0 -
To be honest i haven't shuffled anything wouldn't have a clue how to!
The thing is i get a £2000 payrise in september so i would have been able to pay off at least 300 a month

do they over commit their credit limits?0 -
I think the banks have taken such a battering with people saying they are irresponsible lenders that they are now looking at applications more closely. Plus they will want to minimise their bad debt risk now that interest rates are rising.0
