Bank Account Switching Service

Hey:)
Can anyone help me to understand what I need to do to use the 7 day switching service to move everything from my bank account to another one, when the one I'm moving to isn't a brand new account? Is that still possible?
I was offered the switching service when I first opened the account and I think it said you could do it at a later date by speaking to them but I just want to make sure this will be OK.. I'm just waiting for a few things to happen and then will be moving everything, but am just not quite ready yet.
It will be Natwest to Barclays (and happy for the Natwest one to shut down as per the t&c of the switching service)
Thanks for any help

According to Barclays website you can't do this online, but they can arrange it for you if you go into a branch.

No problem at all, you can switch whenever you like. The only time you might need to request a switch within a given timescale is when you want a switching bonus. But since Barclays don't pay one, this doesn't apply in your case.

It is advisable to only switch once your new account is fully up and running, anyway - you want online access, a debit card, a PIN, and any card reader or security token you might need before you initiate the switch. This should ensure that you aren't stuck without access to your money.

All you need to do is ask Barclays to switch your account when you are ready. More here: http://ask.barclays.co.uk/help/day2day_banking/move_account
