Claiming standard life shares

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before, I did try searching before posting but couldn't find anything.
My husband has recently received a letter from capita saying that he has unclaimed standard life shares. We're not sure why it has taken them this long to 'find' him as we have received letters from standard life every year for the last 19 years! It says that they charge 15% plus VAT to claim the shares.
He has emailed standard life directly but they sent him the same Capita form out.
Does anyone happen to know how to claim the shares without having to pay Capita? We have managed to find a phone number to call standard life on, but he's abroad and can't phone anyone for the next month or so!!
Many thanks.

You DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THE RIP OFF CAPITA FEES
"An administration fee of 15% plus Value Added Tax (VAT) will be deducted from any cash or dividend entitlement if Capita Asset Services handle the claim on your behalf. Claimants can also contact Standard Life Shareholder Services direct on 0845 113 0045.""
When you call this number you will still be put through to CAPITA and they will still try to rip you off, you have to INSIST you are not charged and ask for a single cheque for your dividends because they will charge you for each one (£40)Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0
