Whats on in Porthcawl August/September for free/cheap

Ok Porthcawl has its good points and its bad points but there are loads of things going on this August and September, so I`d thought I`d post it all here, as I have posted some bits on the things to do with kids thread, but there are lots for adults too, and almost all of this is free.
10th to the 12th of August the Porthcawl Sea festival is on, many events by the harbour:-
10th August
10am sandcastle comp
6pm family treasure hunt
7pm Ship Ahoy
11th August
12 noon harbour day
7pm musical evening
12th August
3.30pm Songs of Praise by the sea
Rose and Crown beer festival, Nottage, Tel 01656 784850
31st August- 2nd September
Friday 31st August
8pm Live Band
Bouncy castle
Saturday 1st September
Country and western theme, Rodeo Bull, hog roast, Face painting, local band
Sunday 2nd September
12-4pm Jazz trio
7pm local artist
Car Boot Sale Rest Bay 5th of August and 19th of August
Car boot Sale Awl-Y-Mor community centre, opposite Griffin Park every Saturday except last sat of the month
Farmers Market -Awl-Y-Mor community centre last Saturday of the month
Surf Cult Sea Festival August 30th August to 9th of September

Some of these attractions are free, for example the Tsunami Cup - which is a charitable surf comp at Rest Bay on the 1st and 2nd of September. Some things you have to pay for. Suitable for older children

The beer festival is free as far as I know
Nottage is in Porthcawl, its just outside the town. Pm me if you want directions0 -
