Hi all,
Just wanted a place to vent, my DS moved into a 'real' bed tonight and I feel quite emotional about it all
Truth is, hes 2 1/2 now and its been coming for a long time, typical toddler getting more and more independant by the day
Did anyone else feel sad their LO was growing up so much?? Is it bad to feel sad, surely I should feel jubilant and happy at his progress
Am I that terrible a person?? :rotfl:
I don't get to talk to many other mums, just wondered if this is par for the course?
Lol reading that back, I sound like some kind of mad woman, am sure!!! Also apologies there is nothing really money saving about this, just want some reassurance I don't need to get myself committed just yet :rotfl:

i'm a dad & my other half is right now putting our son to bed for the first time in his new big bed.
I feel overjoyed about it I think its brilliant. Sure they grow up fast but its wonderful.0 -
Hi Sarah my little one has just turned 3,it seems sad that I can hardly remember him being a baby,he seems to have grown up too fast, whereas my daughter who is 7 I can remember loads of things she did as a baby, maybe with her being my first and I seemed to spend more time with her(although I don't think I did if that makes sense).
Just enjoy them for what they are little angels and be there to surport them, they get more enjoyable everyday.Mfit member no 13 original balance £44000

My son bought me an alcoholic drink last month at his sixth form leavers ball.
I'm sure it was only a few months ago he looked so tiny in his first big bed. Time really does fly.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I don't really realise how much my DD has grown until i see my sisters LO wearing her old clothes i've passed on. Then i always wonder "how on earth did you ever fit in that?"! I got out her going home outfit the other day & it's sooooo tiny. Just makes me want another baby now!Madison's mum

Make the most of it JC, before you know it they are all grown up and you remember them being babies as if it was yesterday.
What I would give to have my babies back (they are now 28 & 31) and both have special women in their lives.
How about making a memory book now that your LO is starting an independant life, its great to look back at and even funnier when you show it to the future wives...LOL

You're not nuts for this reason Sarah - I feel just the same way
My daughter is 4 and starts school next January and my son is 2.5 and starts pre-school in September.
I love seeing them asleep especially my son coz he still looks like a baby when he's a sleep - he's still wearing nappies (pull-ups) and got a chubby-ish face and legs
whereas my daughter is more like a foal - skinny body and all legs
I feel like I'm losing my babies too and it's a really strong feeling but I also really enjoy all the things they can do.You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs

I am pretty much the same as mics_chick, my son is 4 and starts school in September. Hes been in nursery/preschool since 6 months but I am gutted that he is starting school, I am totally totally dreading dropping him off on day one. My daughter is 2 1/2 and has just done a term at preschool, I am also dreading dropping her off there on her own without her big brother.
she is still in a cot (cotbed size) as we have another baby due is 6 weeks and no way do I want 2 of them running about like loonies at bedtime or in the morning, But she should really be in a bed and I am dreading this too, they look so tiny and lost.
Maybe you should do what i do and keep having babies LOLJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
