Just one more quick question. It is the estate agent's broker we're using. She has been recommended to us and is a whole of market broker, but do you think we should maybe try elsewhere?

Sorry to hi-jack but as the title of the thread says. What happens after the DIP ? Full mortgage application going in this week. Absolutely terrified it will be rejected. Never had bad credit but worried something will crop up as partner never uses credit and apparently that can be just as bad?

Depends on the lender. This thread got out of control due to the lenders process.

Best to start a new thread unless youre with Halifax, in which case the process is pretty well covered earlier in the thread

It's not Halifax. I think I might be better off living with the fear of the unknown than worrying about what's happened to other people :-)

What about if in the brokers opinion your file is best matched to Halifax, you have been at the same address for more than 3 years and no adverse in years 3 to 6.

Would a DIP from Halifax in these circumstances carry slightly more comfort ?

In general terms it's certainly not the case. There's nothing special in using a credit card (for example) as proves absolutely nothing.
