Another vote for childish, rude and lacking in manners.
I presume you either don't work or are in a role with zero customer contact to not understand how ridiculous you were.

Genius post. It's childish, rude and lacking in manners to hang up on someone who is badly prepared when they phone you up and then puts you on hold for an indefinite period?

Presumably in the same situation you'd stay on hold indefinitely then. More fool you.

Actually it's you ignoring the OP.

Everything you suggest about checking information, verifying details etc could have been done before calling. OP hasn't said the caller asked for any more information, they just said the caller phoned up and then put them on hold.

    With respect;

    1. I didn't ignore his post, I offered some reasons as to why the hold process was legitimately used. That is not ignoring the OP, that is offering a different viewpoint.

    2. Your two posts on here have been to attack two posters, without offering an opinion of your own on the OP's situation

    1. You claimed "With regards to the hold process, it is either done because OP was rude or because the company needed to check some key information". You have no evidence for the first option, and since OP hadn't provided any further information the second isn't the case either. So using your own argument the hold process was not legitimately used.

    2. I wouldn't even have got as far as being put on hold. If they can't provide me a sensible price when I make the online enquiry, they've already lost my business. If I wanted to haggle I'd go to the souk, I'm not interested in a company that works like that.

    1. Please read my posts carefully before posting. I used the word "check" and not "provide". They are two very different verbs, and in another post I explained why details may need to be "checked" again (unless you meant that the second scenario was moot given OP had not provided such information. That would be correct, but it is dangerous to take a post at face value and I can't see any illegitimate reason for the hold process being used, can you?). Basically, you are arguing the toss with someone who has a few years experience of working in a call center, and someone whom knows in-depth why the hold process is used. You are entitled to disagree with me because I don't consider myself an expert on call center processes, but to dismiss my comments completely without consideration is ignorant.

    2. Ok fine, your opinion. I'm the opposite. Unless you make a post to "rant" about your experience then nobody is likely to pass judgement in either way. Oh, and thank you for addressing the OP issue in this second point.

    I wasn't rude.

The caller asked me to confirm my details then said I will put you on hold.

Thanks to whoever reported my post.
Had a PM from the mods laughing about how pathetic you are and how I was right to say what I did. MSE towers are having a great laugh at some crybaby who doesn't like to be put on hold. :rotfl:

Which is why I included two possible reasons in that sentence you quoted.

Neither of which were the case.

..... elaborating would be much more useful! Anyway, you have ignored most of my posts, cherry picking what you want to make weak arguments. I do respect some of your posts on here, but on this occasion it falls well short of anything useful.

I think I will leave it at that.
