Boiler replacement confusion!

With all the green deal hoo ha I'm getting really confused about replacing my 18yr old conventional boiler. I had a powerflush and a service 2 years ago when it was playing up, and it's been pretty good but is starting to show its age again. Water gets in when it's wet and windy and the thing trips the RCD, and recently it's just started cutting out and needs resetting with the little switch underneath. So I'm thinking either do one more service and see if I can get another year out of it, or take the plunge and go for a whole new system now. I have old single panel radiators (9) which I can't bleed anymore as most of the screws have rounded, and a noisy water pump upstairs that I won't miss. I've worked out it will probably cost upto about K5 for the work involved.

What do people think is the best option? Hold off for a year or go for it now? And if I do go for it now, what's the best way?

1. Green deal (not a positive word on this site for that option) and doubt new rads will be covered.
2. Part cash (have about K3 savings) and part credit card/loan
3. All on loan
4. Interest free over a year (goodbye any disposable income)
5. The boiler lease scheme (will still have to replace rads separately)

I'd be very grateful for any words of wisdom. I just can't decide to flog the old kit for a bit longer or inject new heating life into the place - at a cost that is not insignificant, but does have its benefits.

If you have the money do it now.

I am getting new heating and none of these green deals, grant schemes etc. would give me a single penny because I have too much money in savings though I won't have after paying for the heating.:(
over 73 but not over the hill.
