how long for first time dla application for my child?

I've just sent off a dla application for my ds. How long are applications taking currently? Any ideas? Thanks x

anything up to 12 weeks is normal.

I applied last week of January (first time application for child). Last week I had a call asking for a supporting letter from a health professional. I faxed that through on Tuesday this week- and received a letter confirming outcome yesterday (Saturday). So about 7 weeks turn around for us.

However, I believe our case was quite straightforward and the health professional's evidence left little doubt as to the disability or need.
