Ford 2014 KA indicator problems
Just wondering if anyone is having the same problem as we are?
Bought a new one last year 14 plate and basically the indicator cancels to early. So if you indicate at a roundabout by the time you have pulled onto the roundabout itself the indicator cancels and it's impossible to put back on as you working against the mechanism. Which means basically a lot of the time you have to manuavre without indicating. Which isn't the best thing to be doing!
So we took it back to ford who initially said there was no problem with it. So we had to go back to take it out for a drive with one of their mechanics. Who said straight away that it's not right!
So it went in to be repaired this morning and just collected it and it's exactly the same. Apparently they replaced the mechanism they had to order the part in so this one is faulty too. Firstly they obviously didn't test it after the repair so wasted my time going back to pick it up (I work Saturdays so have to take the day off!) and also I now can't see the point of losing another Saturday taking it back again when they clearly can't fix it and aren't even bothered enough to check if the repair has worked.
So not sure what to do now. I've complained but I have no confidence in returning it a third time and losing another mornings work.
Just wondering of this is a common fault? Oh and also there is a safety recall now too for a seperate issue!

If the indicator clicks off you can just put them back on again.0

I've never driven a Ford KA before but are you sure you're not using the lane change indicating feature that most modern cars have.
A small tap on the indicator gives a few flashes then stops, as opposed to moving the indicator further which then stays flashing until you've completed your turn and move the steering wheel in the opposite direction.0 -
No the problem is the mechanism that cancels the indicator automatically after you have made the turn. For example you indicate left, turn left then when straightening the wheel the indicator will automatically click off.
In this case the indicator sometimes turns off before you have made the turn.0 -
Hi,
I have a 62 Plate Ka and i too have noticed this. It can be quite annoying, obviously must be a design fault. Never had this problem on my old style KA's0 -
Thanks lolly! At least it's not just me! Looks like it's a design fault then and replacing the mechanism isn't going to help. Not sure what to do now. Might just have to live with it. My previous KA was fine too so just the new ones by the sounds of it.0
