And the Hugh Coolican stats book isn't great at all. I echo melancholly and recommend the Andy Field one (second edition I think it is) which I discovered on my postgrad course. Wish I had it when doing my undergrad degree.
Real World Research by Robson is quite useful.
For more advanced stats Tabaknik and Fidel using multivariate statistics (now 5th ed i think) is good - but unlikely to be needed for the purposes of an undergraduate degree unless you do something particularly interesting for your final year project, but you will receive guidance from your supervisor then anyway.0
