"You will pay us a fee for having the account ("Annual Fee"). The Annual Fee is currently £0 payable annually in advance for each year or part of year."
    Source T&C.

Either they are using a standard form of words for all their cards, and/or making it easy to change this in the future.

Yeah, when I found it I as sceptical. Even if there is an annual fee they hide it well. I think all their T&Cs are set out like that (as you suggested) just in case they have a card that has an annual fee. Or, perhaps they used to charge an annual fee, or they intend to in the near future. I highly doubt it's a mistake.

UPDATE: I have just looked at another card's T&Cs ('classic card') which clearly states no annual fee, and, surprise, surprise: "You will pay us a fee for having the account ("Annual Fee"). The Annual Fee is currently £0 payable annually in advance for each year or part of year. " Source.

I suspect they have done this to make it easier to change in future.
i.e. they just have to change the amount.

If you are cynical then you need to keep an eye on any correspondance you get in future as they will have to inform you of any changes.

Personally I think I must have earnt about £150 by now in cashback, so I'm a happy bunny.

I must be close to that too :) Amazing how much you can concentrate all your spending in to a 10 week window. My car has had broken power steering for a month but I was waiting till I got the card before paying the 500 quid to get it fixed...plus it has saved on going to the gym
    I think....

All companies must be flexible and adapt to ever changing market conditions. On the other hand all customers should also be vigilant and check all correspondence (it isn't all junk mail) to watch out for these. These are the basic rules of the game we play with each other.

Again, I've no complaint with my Capital One cashback card - I've just trimmed an extra £8.18 off my car insurance.
