Is brit still around here or has the 8+ years he has been waiting forced him away?

He/she/it often stated his/her/its deposit was in place and he/she/it was just waiting for a phenomenal crash, rubbing his/her/its hands with glee at the prospect of snapping up a house for a song from a hardworking family in crippling negative equity.
He/she/it then continued onto the housing board, dissuading potential buyers from taking their first step on the housing ladder.
I sincerely hope nobody ever acted on his/her/its 'advice'.
brit is getting his/her/its just deserts.
She/her. Brit is a woman regardless of whether you agree or disagree with her
It seems polite to use the right pronoun if you can.0 -
Brit was last online early this morning, so hasn't gone anywhere:

Why thank you Nikks. A previous employer of mine (private sector I hasten to add) actually wrote a booklet on how to avoid pronouns if you aren't sure. It must have stuck in my memory more than I thought.
In terms of brit, I never gave much thought to whether they were a he or a she, and don't read a lot of house price threads as I prefer economic ones. I personally don't like threads about members though, unless they are supportive ones. It's fun to come here and debate, but a shame when it gets personal. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I did refer to brit as a 'she' once, but he responded by saying that he was male (or words to that effect). But of course he might have been just messing with me.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Brit said he was a he and I believe him.0

He was always hanging out for 50% drops... from 2007, its now 2015 8 years later. The longer he waited the more time he could've payed off his mortgage at an insanely cheap level.
In the end the call to wait for lower house prices from 2007 was wrong, and the time to buy was 2009-2011, in my area they have started rising 10% per year. I'm not cheering on house price inflation at all because it will limit my children getting on the ladder but staying in rent for 8 years if you could've bought is a pretty silly idea in hindsight.
I don't think anyone on here predicted the Government intervention but feel free to post a link to a previous post of yous where you predicted it..0 -

Brit as you say did try and dissuade people from buying via the governments schemes such as HTB by pointing out facts such as only around 5% of people buying shared ownership properties go on to buy 100% so in fact the vast majority of people will still be paying rent. The process of selling a shared ownership property is also more complex than than usual.0 -

My Update
As said before living in London I was priced out of the market. Credit Crunch came and I could afford to buy but waited for a better deal as they were removing all the dodgy stuff which caused that bubble like gift deposits, 100-125% mortgages, self cert/liar loans, BMV.
I didn't expect 0.5% interest rates, QE which came in to prop prices back up again Then all the stimulus poured in with shared equity and its variations which stopped me buying a flat as they raised the value to put it on that scheme. Then Foreign investors poured in, old people not getting interest pored their savings into property with Help to Buy and funding for Lending finishing any chance I had of buying.
I presently have a large deposit and watching for when I can afford to buy as prices fall. I haven't saved as much in my deposit recently as saving accounts have dried up, pay freezes and day to day costs rise.
It wasn't that I didn't want to buy but I was priced out and the only one I did go to buy was put up in value because of the shared equity scheme was brought in.
Hoping these London prices continue to fall and hoping there is no more stimulus to keep them high.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
