Remove and replace radiators
DRP
Service old combi boiler.
Replace 2x existing single radiators (180 x 30cm) with double panel same size.
Remove 2x existing 80 x 70cm radiators and remove pipework.
Install a 180 x 50cm Delonghi column rad (I will be buying/paying for the delonghi seperately).
Price includes new TRVs. Also the guy will be coming twice to remove rads and fit all pipework, we decorate, then he comes to put the delonghi rad on.
Quoted at 820 quid.
Fair or not?

£120 for the radiators
http://www.screwfix.com/p/kudox-premium-type-22-double-panel-double-convector-radiator-white-300x1200/30650
£60 for 3 middle of the road TRV's
http://www.screwfix.com/p/drayton-rt212-white-chrome-trv-15mm-angled-l-s/53581
so thats £180 materials, add on £20 for bit and bobs and we're left with £620 for labour
It'll take him less than half a day to replace the 2 rads and service the boiler.
so thats 2 and a half days left at £200 a day to remove the other 2 rads and pipes and fit the posh rad.
Seems a bit steep to me.0 -

Thanks. I guessed it is a little over the top.
THe only other thing to add is that there are 2 guys doing it - one doing the service, one for the rest. One guy will come back to fit the rad once we have decorated.
To be honest, I'm committed to this now as we need it done ASAP - he's coming on Thursday.
Next time I'll get properly organised and get a few more quotes.
Thanks for your comments.0
