Still no win :(

Have just started comping for the first time a few weeks ago. Feel like I have entered 100000 competitions and still not won anything :( will keep trying though! Fingers crossed xx:A

Don't forget the "lead time"! Many comps closing dates are weeks ahead. You need to be a bit bloody minded to keep comping in a dry spell :) but it is worth it!
    Still cracking on....

I almost never win from random draws xxx Maybe 5 times in 3 years??? I have had some lovely wins though, Mine have been mostly from effort competitions, with photo's/captions etc, so could be worth trying that?
Having said that....if it is getting to you not winning and you feel disheartened-it might be worth either giving it a break for a few days or only entering things you really want to win xx Thats what I do :) That way if I get a winning email it's even more exciting as I know it'll be something i'll really appreciate :D xxx Good luck x I am sure it will happen soon x
  • Hi there, you will find plenty of threads from newbies on here saying they haven't won yet, a bit of friendly advice from someone who has been at this for nearly 3 years now, you have only been doing this hobby for a few weeks you really do need to give it a chance and be patient, I didn't get my first win for nearly 9 weeks when I started and my 2nd and 3rd wins didn't happen until 10/11 weeks after that. Also some wins get delayed coming through, last year I entered a comp in February and the prize wasn't sent out to me until August, I didn't even know I had won until it turned up! comping is a game of patience and luck, as one of the regular Weeowens says to newbies all the time it is a hobby, you have to enter and forget and move on to the next one, don't be disheartened or frustrated that you feel like you have entered thousands (I've entered millions!) and your not winning, you are winning by just taking part and being in the game, see it like a lottery, your name will get picked for one of the comps eventually.
Keep going and good luck xx

Huge thanks to everyone who takes the time and effort to post all the comps! :T

    I'd agree.
Plus my message is to stop counting entry totals.
I see it as a a pointless exercise, although I appreciate some get pleasure from counting.
I just feel that in dry spells that count may further dishearten a non winner.
Personally I have not a clue as to how many comps I entered last week/month/year.As stated above I just enter & forget.
I use the MSE Comps functionality ie the green tick & thanks to record my entry & that is the last I usually do on most threads.
ETA: The last time I did count was in possibly 2010.That year I entered over 21,000 unique comps plus the TAB & Puzzler multiple type comps.I think I may have won possibly forty prizes over the year. Some were high value ones though.

Are you joking/exaggerating for effect or do you really enter 2000+ comps per day?!
