Public transport to and from O2

I wonder if any of you super moneysavers can help a rural lass travelling to the big smoke for a concert at the O2. We, 4 of us, are staying over night in Greenwich and are just wondering what the best way to travel to and from the venue. Someone had suggested the Clipper but when I looked it was £15 and for 4 of us that would be £60 a bit steep by country standards.
Anyway I wonder if anyone out there might be a bit more savvy in the way London transport works to advise us what options we might have.
Thanking you all kindly in advance:

Use the TfL journey planner, or if that doesn't come up with anything suitable, then a taxi for 4 of you will probably be cost effective.

Depends how near you are staying to the O2. Jubilee line, DLR?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for your responses. We are staying in Greenwich
The trouble I having is that "people" are telling me "Oooh after the concert the tubes are really band and squashed." "Oooh you'll never get a taxi" Quite honestly they are sending me nuts but as I don't know any better so can't persuade (brainwash) them in to thinking my way. I am a proper moneysaver and I don't like spending a penny more than I need!! Buying the concert tickets themselves made me have a funny
turn!
I just wondered it anyone out there had been to concerts at the 02 and what they have found to be the best route home.

Have a look at buses too - they'll be cheaper if it's only 1 bus in each direction, but still cheaper than the tube (unless you already have tube journeys to make). There's a daily cap on fares which is lower if you just use the bus than if you mix and match. Transport is likely to be busy, but what else would you expect? It's only numbers.0

I've been to one many years ago.
It was quite fun exiting the O2 in a big crowd, all heading for the tube station. Everyone simply stood on the platform in a big mass.
I was too far back in the crowd to fit on the first train that came along, but got onto the second, which was just minutes later.
Yes the tube will be crowded but don't let that put you off!0 -
The problem is, saying Greenwich really doesn't help, as the O2 is in Greenwich, so for all we know you are staying 2 minutes walk away. If you tell us exactly where you're staying then the answers might be a bit more precise.0

From the O2 the 129 or 188 bus will take you to Greenwich near the Cutty Sark in 10 mins. Walking on a nice evening will take 30-40 minutes (although it's best to print out a local map). The man without a signature.0

As above: without knowing your location, no-one can tell you if the Jubilee or DLR are any help at all.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for all your replies. Sorry for being rubbish about my location, shows I am so unused to big places. We are staying in Greenwich near the national maritime museum. I almost happy about getting there via the DLR and Jubilee line. However my chummies that I am going with, are concerned about the amount of people trying to get on the tube on the way back. I just wonder if anyone out there had any experience of these tubes after concerts at the O2. I was thinking if we don't rush for it and hang back a little it won't be so bad.
Walking sound a lovely option to me, if its not raining, as there are 4 of us and one of us is really scary when needs to be!!
Thanking everyone for their suggestion and help, its really making my trip more plannable0 -
I've taken the tube from North Greenwich both after a concert and a big tennis event and
a. it is quite busy
b. it isn't dangerous
c. the trains are quite frequent so missing one would not be a problem
Its easy to pay with an Oyster or better still a contactless visa card assuming you have one.0
