I'm currently installing new skirting and architraves in my 2-bed victorian terrace, Torus style throughout:

We have an archway that links the lounge and dinning room and i was wandering, should we replace the outer architrave on this as well to match the new Torus style?

Or is it better to have something stand alone here? Whatever is there at the moment was fitted by previous owners about 15 years ago when the wall was knocked through and doesn't really match anything else ...
I guess we can do what we like but is there a preferred method for this type of archway, should it be treated same as doors?
Thanks

As far as I can see it's purely a question of balancing aesthetics against cost. I think of myself as quite picky, but I don't think I'd bother (your mileage may vary!).
For me the point of getting everything matching would be to make it look original, but the opening where the rooms have been knocked together never will no matter what you do.0 -
cost will be included with the rest of the skirting and architrave work our builders are doing... so its just a case of balancing aesthetics.
think i'll go for it!0
