Am I likely to get a mortgage with this credit score?

Yeah but all this is focused on the credit score - the income/mortgage/monthly affordability is probably a bigger factor (assuming nothing bad on the credit report)
500k mortgage on a 20k - unlikey
100k mortgage on a 80k salary - more likely!0 -
There have been occasions when people have been awarded excellent experian scores with bad adverse information on their files.
Still a methodology in the way CRA's calculate their scores. Excellent scores are meaningless. As credit applications could fail reasons unrelated to "credit" itself. Credit forms only part of the application.0 -
The other factors CandyApple mentions are key to getting credit.
While there is an algorithm behind Experian credit scores, it makes assumptions about all these other factors. It is these Assumptions that cause anomalies for people in non-average situations.
Credit scores are indicatively useful. A long history of missed payments will be a concern for real lenders and will show as a low credit score.
But model assumptions can fundamentally flaw the result & the scores should not be relied on or ever paid for.0
