Car insurance cancelled, does this affect home insurance?

Hi

My boyfriend and I are moving into our first flat and need contents insurance. He has previously had car insurance cancelled by the insurer as he didn't send proof of no claims discount within the requested time. When obtaining contents insurance quotes I'm asked if anyone to be insured has had insurance cancelled, does this only refer to home insurance or all insurance? How should I respond to this?

I would query it before taking out a policy. Get on the phone to them and record the call if you can. Or get it in writing if you can.

If the question is as you posted, then it includes any "insurance policy"

Check with the insurer in question as whilst they ask about "any" their interest is normally narrower than the question implies (eg they arent interested in my declined life insurance quotes). That said, most are interested in any general insurance personal lines issues.
