bank charges adding up

i have just received my partners statements from barclays(after about 3 months). as well as the unautharised overdraught charges, my patner had numerous letters, each with a charge. however these charges don't show up on her statements, and it's these charges that amounted to more than the o/d charges. if this is so would there be evidence on her statements that they took the money out of her account? i am at a loss, my partner is saying one thing and the statements another. can any one help please

  • The bank statement has to show ANY transaction that has happened on the account. This is a legal requirement. If there are no charges showing on the statement it means that she hasn't paid the charge.

yes, send a subject access request for all charges that have been applied to the account. when you ask for a request from your bank...that is exactly what you are going to get..however, yes it should show on the final page of statement what the charge is and description.

I wouldn't bother requesting a DSAR till after the OFT court case is heard. You bank won't deal with the claim, so why bother wasting your time ordering the DSAR report.

Hi,i agree with lindilou, you should send a sar to get a copy of all charges, you should send it asap,as even if the banks aren't dealing with requests for repaying charges ,at the moment they will have to record it on their computer,so the sooner you request your charges back the better. If you already have the statements then the charges should be on there,if not do you have a copy of the letters showing the charges which were to be applied? Just a thought but did your partner have a loan from the bank, because if so any charges on this would be on a seperate list,so you would also need to request these.Goodluck
