My friend is going to Canada and whilst there she is going to travel into the USA then back to Canada.
Does she need an ESTA? Is there anything she should be aware of?

If she is travelling under the Visa Waiver Programme then yes she will

Not unless she is arriving in the USA by air/sea
If she is travelling across the border by land she will not need an ESTA. There will be form to fill in(I-94?) and a fee to pay ($12?)
