Thanks for that. He is a chef and was on his way to work so was not able to get out his policy and review his options at the time. He had it towed to a garage by the AA. He reported it to his insurance company and within 48 hours they had inspected it, decided it was uneconomic to repair and notified him of this by post (he has not been told which category assume it is c or d).
In the same post he had a letter from the salvage firm asking him for MOT, service history and log book so they can pick up car. He has not had any further correspondence from Hastings, just hassle on the phone from the salvage firm and from would be car hirers.
He has not been offered any settlement and certainly not accepted one. Has emailed them today asking for full details of what has happened with regard to the incident to date.0 -
So it's still at the garage the aa took it to?
:ask your insurance company if it's too late to drop the claim with them.0 -
