thansk i wont botehr getting one of those then. can you still get the one you got? and how does it work?
I didn't mean to sound hyper-critical, but I thought these offered poor results for the price and in my view were expensive to run. My machine is superb, but I have to get it into perspective. Again I first saw it at the Ideal home where it was being sold for £300 - I got one in Italy for about £120. Over the years I had it serviced and repaired in Italy when I've returned there, such work over there is much cheaper and over the years has amounted to about £50 - that wouldn't go very far in the UK. As it happens, I bought an identical one off eBay about a year ago for £30, however that was lucky. The new machines are still around the £200 mark - Whittard stock them. I you are going to use it like me, then it's worth spending the money, otherwise a PUMPED machine between £50 - £100 should do the job and be much cheaper to run.
PS. My wife has just come in and asked my what I'm doing - when I said, she said a work colleague bought a Tassimo and thinks it was a waste of money.0 -
i will keep shopping around for one then. i hate coffee and so does mr divadee we only drink tea or hot choccie in this house, so didnt want to spend a fortune.0

In that case I'd save your money - it'll only take up space cluttering your cupboard.0 -
there in costco for 75 pounds ...https://www.costco.co.uk0

i have been using the machine for the last week. I will return it as both the chocolate and cofee it makes is weak and useless.0

Oh what a shame - is there no way of somehow getting these machines under control and avrying the strength to suit?
Or is it more of a problem than just weak coffee?0 -
I don't have one, but have been thinking of buying once hence my understanding is that you can customise the settings to suit your particular taste - is this not true?0

unrelated to Tassimo, but if you likes you coffee......
I got a douwe Egberts/philips "Senseo" machine for xmas.....just does coffee through the "coffee pods" thing. However, i like my coffee, and there are now a few more flavours and types other than just light, medium, dark and decaf....now douwe egberst themselves have a few "city inspired" ones, i like the sydney one, or the rio de janero...you can also buy a kenjara and others now...and kenco now make some too....
it's not all bells and whistles, tea, cappucino, hot choc, but like i say, if you like you good coffee, with a good flavour and crema layer, then these machines are the !!!!!!....
around 39.99 at the moment with the pods at £2.19 for 18 regular and £2.10 for the city ones....
i REALLY recommend it, because it does what it says on the box....makes good coffee under pressure!

Exactly what I thought at the Ideal Home Show - the demonstrator asked me to honestly tell her what I thought - so I did. She could only reply by saying that she liked it! She didn't mention any strength setting. I guess the boot sales will be full of these soons. Also what do you do when they stop selling the "capsuls"?0
