What is the ceiling wiring like in brand new houses?

Hi all,
I am buying a new build which will be ready soon. I am trying to purchase some items beforehand to have ready for moving in.
What are the ceiling wires like in a new build house? Is there a hole in the ceiling where the wires exit? The light I like has a 'bar' along the top, not a circular attachment.
Any advice welcomed.

Thank you - is it likely to need filling/covered over to install a thin bar light, like the link below?
Thanks

If the house is not ready yet pop up with the light and a drink ask the sparks to put it up.0

Thank you, that may have been a good idea, but I will need to wait until my table is in etc to determine the height to lower the light to.
Now I'm thinking what else I could bribe workmen to do for me though :rotfl:

that bar will cover the hole where the cable comes out.
Your problems going to be finding something solid to fix to. If the ceilings not up yet, try and work out if it will span a couple of joists if they run in the right direction. If not, try and get some noggins but in in the rough location so there is some wood to screw into.0 -
Surely there will be a rose of some sort with many wires already attached.0

If it's a new build house you are moving into it will come with a standard "3 plate wiring pendant" already installed, normally there will be three wires, wired into the pendant 2 of them live neutral and earth and one of them live and switched live.
The fitting you showed in your post above "should" cover the hole where wiring comes through.
Don't worry too much about finding joists above for fixings etc, a simple way to fix such a fitting would be secure to the joist where the wires come through then if further fixings are required then the use of a cavity fixing will suffice. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
