So if this is VW's approved used scheme, can't they get you any car nationally? Therefore you could go to your close garage and ask for the one that's further away if it meets your specs?
I bought a Mini from Birmingham from a garage in Belfast, and Belfast is where I was taking it for servicing or if there were any problems.

yes I am looking at the approved scheme and could ask my local dealer if any in their network, but they wouldn't cover all VW across the uk - warranty work is not the issue it's if anything not covered by warranty went wrong then surely I would somehow have to get it back to the original garage
  • thanks for all the replies, sounds like some good dealers out there willing to sort out non warranty work as a goodwill gesture.

Think I will stick nearer to home for peace of mind.
