Virgin media ripoff

I joined with vm on a 12 month contract few months back for the price of x amount and was told the price would be same for 12 months. Now i got a shock when i saw this month bill. They increase by 25%.
I called them and explained and i was told this is the same price increase for all the customers regardless of when you joined. Then i asked why you didn't tell me, vm said we already sent a letter. I didn't receive a one asked them to send a one but was told they cannot reprint/reproduce the letter.
I am wondering how can they advertise for a price/month for 12 months and then in 2 months they can change the price. It seems to be a big ripoff on all the customers. I was told they can't put me back to original agreed tariff.
can this be taken to Ofcom, need your advise please.
Thank you for your help.

Ofcom first you need to go through VMs complaint procedure and wait 8 weeks .0 -
I asked VM to create a complaint and it was created. I asked what's the next step in the process. She told me tariff cannot be changed that's the resolution for this and we will close the complaint. I said this is the beginning how can you close like this, then she transferred to her manager and he was trying to convince me but i was not then he hung the phone.0
